July Happenings in the White Mountains

There’s never a shortage of things going on in the White Mountains and we have lots to do to keep you occupied in July. There’s an event or activity for every member of the family, so now your job is deciding how to fit it all in!

Warren Old Home Day-Friday, July 7-Sunday, July 9

Full weekend of events including helicoptor rides with White Mountains Helicoptor, a midway and fireworks on Friday, parade, pie eating contest, poker run, and live music on Saturday, and the Masconic Breakfast, cash bingo, and and Annual Bake Off on Sunday.

Evening Lantern Tours at Lost River Gorge-Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays this summer

Visitors gain a new perspective as the caves are lit by lanterns and the boardwalks are lit by headlamp. Tours begin at dusk and last about 2 hours. Recommended for ages 5 and up and reservations can be made by calling 603-745-8031

Nature By Rail at the Hobo Railroad- Every Saturday in July, Multiple presentations

The Hobo Railroad is teaming up with the Squam Lakes Science Center to bring live animal presentations to the Choo Choo Theater. Guests will have the chance to meet animals up close and personal and then ride the rails of the Hobo Railroad. Trains run at 11am, 1pm and 3pm with animal presentations at 12:30pm and 2:30pm. Children’s Summer Theater at Believe in Books- Fridays at 10am through August 18

Believe in Books and Jean’s Playhouse will be presenting children’s summer theater at the Theater in the Wood in Intervale. Performances include The Bremen Town Musicians. Snow White and Rose Red, and The Nightingale. Single-show tickets are available as well as season passes! For tickets or more information, visit believeinbooks.org

Movies on the Green at Settler’s Green- Tuesdays in July

There’s more to do than just shop, at Settler’s Green in North Conway! This free family event begins at 4pm with yard games, face painting, and music. Movies begin at dusk and are family-friendly. All kids receive a free glow stick. Movie listings can be found at settlersgreen.com

Racing at White Mountain Motorsports Park-Saturdays in July

Sign up to race, or come watch the action! Kids and adults take part in stock car racing at White Mountain Motorsports Park. Snack bar on site. Visit whitemountainmotorsports.com for more information.

Arts Jubilee Concert Series at Cranmore Mountain- Thursdays in July

Bring your friends, family, lawn chair, or blanket! Listen to music by local artists at 6pm followed by the main concert at 7pm. Concerts are held rain or shine, so come prepared! Head to cranmore.com for the full schedule.

Sunrise Drive at the Mt. Washington Auto Road- Sunday, June 30

The Auto Road will be opening at 3:30am so guests can drive themselves to the top of Mt. Washington to watch the sunrise. For additional dates in the summer, visit mtwashingtonautoroad.com

Touch A Truck at Loon Mountain- Sunday, July 16 9am-1pm

Perfect for that truck-obsessed kid (or kid-at-heart) in your life. Get up close and personal with snow cats, backhoes, telehandlers, and other large machines. Admission is free but a donation to a local charity will be accepted. For additional dates and more information visit loonmtn.com

Handcrafted in NH Festival at the Cog RailwaySaturday July 15 and Sunday July 1610am-5pm

To help celebrate the Cog Railway’s 150th birthday, this event celebrates all things handcrafted in New Hampshire! Vendors will be selling food, clothing, jewelry, household products, and more. Fine craft demonstrations will be held throughout the day. Event will be held rain or shine and admission is free.
