What’s Open Through the Fall Foliage Season?

With Fall, there are changes sweeping across the White Mountains landscape. The colors, for one; the other are the hours that our signature attractions are open - they change, too.

Here is a rundown of what’s open during the fall season:
Alpine Adventures , Lincoln
Home of the Tree Top Canopy Tour; the SkyRider and the Super SkyRider Zipline Tours. This unique outdoor adventure company is open year-round.

Cannon Mountain Aerial Tram , Franconia
Soar to the summit of Cannon Mountain daily (weather permitting) from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, daily through Oct. 16.

Conway Scenic Railroad , North Conway
All aboard for a good, old-fashioned train ride. Excursions to Conway or Bartlett aboard the Valley Train on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The spectacular Notch Train running up the tracks through Crawford Notch runs daily through Oct. 23. Check the online schedule for departure times.

Cranmore Mountain Resort , North Conway
Home of the Ghoullog. Navigate your way through 4 individual haunts in one terrifying experience and be chased through the dark woods and embrace the horror that's waiting for you behind every twist and turn. Friday and Saturdays through October, check website for times.

Flume Gorge , Franconia
Explore the wonders of this stunning chasm at the base of the Franconia Range. Be ready for phenomenal mountain views, covered bridges, waterfalls and the beauty of nature in Franconia Notch State Park. Open daily, 8:30 am to 5 pm through Oct. 23.

Hobo Railroad , Lincoln
Your vintage (but fully restored!) coach awaits for ride along the beautiful Pemigewassett River, which reflects the changing foliage through the fall. Daily excursions through Oct. 16 aboard the Hobo Harvest Time Express. Check online for complete schedule of departures and events.

Lost River Gorge & Boulder Caves , North Woodstock
Find and follow Lost River as it tumbles under and over huge boulders left over from the Ice Age; explore the new forest adventure trail and marvel at the waterfalls. Open 9 am to 5 pm daily, through Oct. 16. (Plan to see the gorge at night; Lantern Tours every Saturday night through Oct. 15!)

Mount Washington Auto Road , Pinkham Notch
Drive to the summit of Mount Washington, the tallest mountain in the Northeast and take in the indescribable, 360 degree views that can include the Atlantic Ocean, Canada and as far away as New York. Open daily to the summit, 8:30 am to 5 pm, weather dependent; check online for road status.

Mount Washington Cog Railroad , Bretton Woods
Take a memorable ride aboard the world’s first mountain climbing cog railroad that has brought visitors to the summit of Mount Washington since 1869. Choose eco-friendly biodiesel or the historic steam locomotive. Daily excursions through Oct. 30 - check online for times.

Polar Caves Park , Rumney
Explore magnificent boulder caves formed about 50,000 years ago; meander along the nature trail and finish up at the Maple Sugar Lodge. Open 10 am to 5 pm daily through Oct. 16.
