White Mountains Winter Update

December Update for the White Mountains

It's December and the holiday season is upon us... and did you know that views of the Whites are just as amazing in the winter!

A few of our White Mountains Attractions are still open (primarily weekends) for your enjoyment.

Visit the Conway Scenic Railroad in North Conway with trains running on weekends only through December 23rd, with an 11:30 a.m. departure to Bartlett (1-3/4 hours roundtrip) and a 1:30 departure to Conway (55 minutes roundtrip). Santa will be on board with his mischievous elves who have hot chocolate and cookies for everyone! Visiting after the Chirstmas holiday? Enjoy an old-fashioned train ride, Wednesday the 26th through the 30th. There are two excursions daily, one departing at 11:30 for Bartlett(1-3/4 hours roundtrip) and one at 1:30 to Conway (55 minutes roundtrip).

Visit the Hobo Railroad in Lincoln weekends through December 16th and take a train ride with Mr Santa Claus himself. This train excursion last an hour and twenty minutes and follow along the Pemigewassett River from Hobo Junction in Lincoln to Woodstock.

Looking for an unquie winter experience? Then you should check out the one-of-a-kind SnowCoach at the Mt. Washington Auto Road. A specially constructed all-wheel drive and unique 4-track system that delivers you to the world above tree line for a truly unforgettable experience. SnowCoach tours are approximately 1¼ hour long and depart daily from December through March, depending on weather and snow conditions.

You could also visit with Santa and his reindeer and enjoy Santa's Village in Jefferson all lit up like a Christmas Tree. You will want to dress warmly as it gets snuggly cold on the Skyway Sleigh Monorail or the Merry Christmas Ferris Wheel along with the other 12 rides operating and the festivities geared to Christmas.

If skiing is your thing, then be sure to check our Attitash Mountain, Cannon Mountain, Loon Mountain or Wildcat Mountain. Looking for information on other mountains in the White Mountains or New Hampshire, check out Ski NH's website which include information on other NH snowsports like Cross Country Skiing.
