On April 1, Woodstock Inn & Brewery will take on the flavor of a Long Island Italian Restaurant when entertainer David Clark brings his popular Billy Joel tribute – “All About Joel” -- to a benefit dinner for North Country Center for the Arts.
Clark (who bears a striking resemblance to the piano man himself) has been performing since the 1980s, carving out a solid reputation as a piano player, singer, and performer at countless private events and concerts around the northeast and well beyond. His solo show offers an intimate and memorable tour of the music that has delighted more than one generation, with song hits that explore the many decades of Billy Joel’s music.
Not only the eerily similar stage look and stunningly accurate piano playing echo Joel’s, but Clark’s path share the same routes: both hail from Long Island, both with a keen interest and aptitude for music. Billy Joel began playing at the age of four, and by the time he was 16, was already a pro, having joined his third band before he could drive.
And at about the age of 10, David Clark , was inspired by Joel’s early music and youthful success and motivated then to pursue a life of music. You’ll be glad he did – and enjoy not only his musical skill but the wit, humor, and audience engagement he brings to every performance.
As a fundraising event for NCCA/Jean’s Playhouse, in addition to the great food and entertainment there will be a display of baskets from area artisans and businesses for the evening’s raffles. And, one exceptional original framed piece of art - will be offered as a silent bid opportunity. The copper block etched limited edition (159/300) hand printed by David Smith is titled “Goodbye Old Man” May 3, 2003.
Dining capacity means advance tickets are recommended, as the event may sell out. Ticket price of $55 includes Hors D’oeuvres, Dinner, Show, and a whole lot of fun that begins at 6:00 pm on Saturday, April 1. Online purchase only at www.jeansplayhouse.com, where you can complete and additional information.
The Playhouse is closed through April, but 2023 information continues to be updated on their site and on social media, including Facebook. Look for a spectacular season of entertainment and theatre beginning Memorial Day weekend through December. Proceeds from “All About Joel” will benefit the 2023 programs and performances at Lincoln’s nonprofit North Country Center for the Arts.
