MADISON, NH – The 5th Annual Salsa de Mayo event fundraiser brought plenty of salsa lovers to the front porch of Traditions Restaurant, Cafe & Pub on May 3, 2026, to taste test a dozen entries, all in the name of raising crucial funds for End 68 Hours of Hunger. This public non-profit effort confronts the approximately 68 hours of hunger that some school children experience between the free lunch they receive in school Friday and the free breakfast they receive in school Monday.
Purity Spring Resort President Steven Hoyt recently presented Mandy MacDonald, representing the local chapter of the organization, with a check for $1,000. Hoyt stated, “We are thrilled to support the End 68 Hours of Hunger's vital work in support of our community. This donation aligns perfectly with the Hoyt Family vision commitment to foster relationships and build community. We believe in their mission to support and help the children facing food insecurity in the Valley.”
Donations were collected from those attending, tasting, and voting in the salsa challenge. An additional matching donation was made by Purity Spring Resort, contributing to the total funds raised.
