Fall is still here, and we’ve been experiencing a beautiful October here in the White Mountains. We encourage families to take a day trip or a late fall weekend to explore what we have going on in our region. Here are 5 things to do with the family while you’re spending your time in the White Mountains.
Fired on the Mountain-Lincoln
Let your creativity soar as you paint your own pottery! A warm and positive environment for families to paint and create together. Choose from over 100 pottery pieces, then paint away. The owners will fire your piece and if you won’t be in the area for the finished product, they can ship it to your home for a small fee. Kids of all ages will enjoy the process of picking their own piece and letting their inner artist shine through.
The whole family will enjoy learning about the natural world while exploring the beautiful nature trails and live animal exhibits including; river otters, white-tailed deer, mountain lions, black bears, and more. The kids will enjoy the interactive exhibits including the Gordon Children’s Center where they will use all 5 senses to explore animal habitats, and the Gordon Interactive Playscape: A Predator-Prey Adventure which is a nature-themed playground with rope swings, slides, and tunnels.
Hearing the words “Longest Candy Counter in the World” would make anyone’s head spin, and mouth water. Chutter’s has been a fixture on Main Street in Littleton since the late 1800’s and has become an icon in the White Mountains region. Explore all 112 feet of Chutter’s Candy Counter and choose from over 500 types of candy. Chutter’s also carries homemade fudge, chocolate, and a large gift shop.
No matter what the weather’s doing outside, you can enjoy this indoor waterpark in all seasons. The Red Jacket Resort in North Conway’s indoor waterpark, Kahuna Laguna, is open to the public and has something for everyone in the family. Waterslides, a Wave Pool, the Bamboo Bay Adventure Tower, the Kahuna Basketball Court, and Little Kahuna Play Area.
