MLK Weekend in the White Mountains

Winter fun will reign supreme here in the White Mountains during our first official long weekend of 2020. We are playing host to awesome events for friends, family and everyone in between. Here are 7 events to help you round out your long weekend here in the mountains.

Great Glen Trails Demo Day with Olympian Kikkan Randall- January 19

January 19 th is World Snow Day, and we can’t think of a cooler way to spend it than to demo the latest ski equipment. Purchase a trail pass at Great Glen Trails and enjoy those demos for free. Need more incentive to head over the GGT? Olympic Cross-Country skier, Kikkan Randall, will be spending the day hanging out with her fans and discussing her skiing, health, and Olympic journeys. MLK Jr. Weekend Celebrations at Loon Mountain Resort -January 18-20

Loon Mountain Resort knows how to put on a celebration and this MLK Kr. Weekend will be no exception. Kick off each morning with their famous Bloody Mary bar, and then enjoy a jam-packed with SnowCat rides, Torchlight Parades and fireworks, apres ski parties for kids and adults and live music.

Cranapalooza at Cranmore Mountain - January 18 & 19

Spend the afternoon with Cranmore’s resident mascot, C-More the Penguin! There will be outdoor games, dancing to the beats of DJ Bobby Freedom, and $1 s’mores.

Family Fun Night at Cannon Mountain -January 18

Join the fun at Cannon Mountain during their Family Fun Night. There will be live music from 3-6pm in the Cannonball Pub, a Bounce House in Peabody Lodge, and the Huckerbrook Mini Park will be open under the lights from 4:30-6:30 pm.

Ice Fishing for Families at the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center -January 18

Not only is this weekend MLK Jr. Weekend, but January 18 is Free Fishing Day in the State of New Hampshire. No license is required to join a Squam Lakes naturalist for a free and fun day of ice fishing. All instruction and equipment are included and families are encouraged to wear layers and clothes to spend the day outdoors.

The Mallett Brothers at the Theater in the Wood - January 18

Head to Believe in Books’ Theater in the Woods to jam out to the alt-country sounds of Maine’s own Mallett Brothers. The band mixes harder rock, classic country, and psychedelic sounds to create music that is uniquely their own. Advanced tickets are available or purchase at the door.

Kid’s Night Out at Live a Little Fitness -January 18

Kids night out also equals date night for you! Leave your kids with our certified Yoga teacher and allow them to play with other kids in our Beam play zone. Then once everyone is a bit calmer we will have an active kids yoga class. They will learn Yoga poses, sing songs and of course enjoy a Yoga themed story with Shavasana.
