White Mountains Attractions Reopening in May

It is always exciting when our Attractions open for the 2021 season! It is a sign that summer is surely on its way and that great, family memories are about to be made. While you will have to wait until June for Whale’s Tale Waterpark and Wildcat Mountain to open its doors, the rest begin reopening in May! Here is the rundown on when your favorite attractions will be open!

*Please note that Covid-related protocols and guidelines are being implemented each attraction and information on safety measures can be found at each of their websites. Most attractions will require advance reservations, which can be made online.

Alpine Adventures

While Alpine Adventures remains open year-round, they will be open daily for zip line tours, off-road adventures, and the Thrillsville Aerial Adventure Park starting on May 20.

Attitash Mountain Resort

Look for summer mountain fun to begin Memorial Day weekend!

Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway

Stunning views await you as you ride the Tram to the summit of Cannon Mountain. Daily operations begin Memorial Day weekend.

Clark’s Bears

Come see why Clark’s has been entertaining families for over 90 years! Trained bear shows, and rides on the White Mountain Central Railroad into Wolfman Territory reopen weekends starting Memorial Day weekend, then daily starting June 19.

Conway Scenic Railroad

Currently open weekends for scenic train rides to Conway and Bartlett Village.


Cranmore Mountain Resort

Adventure seekers can get their thrill at Cranmore’s Mountain Bike Park and at limited Mountain Adventure park rides, weekends Memorial Day weekend-mid June. Then, open daily Father’s Day-Labor Day. Additional season updates can be found on their website.

Flume Gorge

Enjoy the beautiful 2-mile walk into the gorge and the stunning views of Avalanche Falls, May-October.

Hobo Railroad

Ride the rails along the banks of the Pemigewasset River, weekends starting on May 29. Check website for times as they can vary by date.

Loon Mountain Resort

Mountain Biking begins weekends starting May 22, and the Gondola begins its ascent, weekends starting May 29. The Adventure Center opens July 1. Head to their website for detailed hours of operation.

Lost River Gorge & Boulder Caves

Explore the caves that have been captivating visitors since 1852! Open daily starting May 7.

Mt. Washington Auto Road

Drive yourself or take a guided StageCoach tour to the summit of Mount Washington. Open daily starting in mid-May.

Mt. Washington Cog Railway

Ride the “Railway to the Moon” (or at least to the summit of Mt. Washington!), on the world’s first cog railway. Open year-round and currently they are open daily! Schedules vary, so check website for the most up to date information.

Polar Caves Park

Families have been exploring their glacial caves for over 90 years, and you can visit them too as daily operations begin May 14!

Santa’s Village

Christmas spirit and Pure JOY, Family Style, returns daily in late-May. Events throughout the season, as well as operating dates in December. Check website for details.

Story Land

Enter a story book world with some of your favorite children’s book characters starting daily on May 29.
