Adventure is calling – Plan ahead for your Outdoor Experience.

An increase in visitors to the White Mountains Region is impacting available parking, and presenting safety challenges in popular recreation areas such as Franconia and Crawford Notch State Parks, along the Kancamagus Highway, and areas surrounding the Presidential Mountain Range.

Park safely and legally

  • Parking can be challenging in peak times.
  • Plan to arrive during non-peak times or days
  • Plan alternative activities if safe and legal parking is not available
  • Avoid parking along roadsides or on private property
  • Allow for safe traffic flow, including winter plowing requirements
  • Watch weather forecasts for upcoming storms or rapidly changing conditions

State and Federal agencies, local municipalities, and other partners are working on alternatives to improve the visitor experience through advance trip planning information.
