A White Mountains Christmas from the Heart in Lincoln

The holidays are warmed by traditional tales and familiar music. The North Country for the Arts at Jean’s Playhouse will be delivering just that with a brand-new production A White Mountains Christmas at their Lincoln, NH theatre on December 7 and 8.

Award-winning Music Director – and Jean’s Producing Artistic Director – Joel Mercier has put together a new show that celebrates the classic stories we know so well set to music by some of NH’s finest performing voices and some performers familiar to regional audiences and also from past productions of A Christmas Carol, the Musical Ghost Story at Lincoln. “This season we decided to take on something new and different – but of course familiar,” according to Mercier. “A White Mountains Christmas mixes some of the favorite stories with delightful tunes and carols in a production as warm as the people of our region, performed by a talented ensemble cast.”

As no Christmas season entertainment would be complete without the presence of one very jolly advocate of making merry, Santa Claus himself will appear both onstage and following the performances. And with Santa busy with North Pole preparations, in-person stand-in will be NH actor Ray Dudley, a multiple award winning NH performer.

Dudley is both a dramatic and musical performer whose roles this time of year most often run to Marley in ‘A Christmas Carol’ and was most recently onstage in Lincoln as the Captain in last summer’s musical Titanic. The youngest performer in the cast of this new production, Addy Allain of Plymouth, is a seasoned veteran of performing at Jean’s; and the two of them will be joined by a cast of regional NH performers including Catherine Cormier Martinez, Caity Jeanne Glover, Mark Kelly, Garrett Meyer, and Andrew Gibson.

There are two performances only: Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday matinee on Dec. 8 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available now, and advance purchase is recommended at www.jeansplayhouse.com; tickets range $15-$20. This production is sponsored by The Mountain Club at Loon.
