Bartlett, NH - Attitash Mountain Resort has long been recognized as New England's original summer fun ski area with the Alpine Slide, still the longest in North America, which first opened to the public in 1976. Since then, Attitash has added many more summer attractions including the Mount Washington Valley's longest mountain coaster and New Hampshire's first free-fall Airbag Jump. Newly opened just last September, Attitash will also begin the 2015 summer and fall operating season with its ZipTour, featuring the longest, single zip span in the contiguous United States from the summit of Bear Peak to Attitash Mountain at a length of 4,969 feet and heights reaching 250 feet above the forest canopy.
In addition to the ZipTour, the Nor'Easter Mountain Coaster, Alpine Slide, Eurobungy Trampoline, Climbing Wall, Airbag Jump, Slacklines, and Scenic Chair Ride to the summit of Bear Peak offering scenic views of the Presidential Range and Mount Washington are all scheduled to open for weekends only beginning Saturday, May 23 (including the Memorial Day Monday).
Lift-serviced Downhill Mountain Biking also begins Memorial Weekend offering a network of designated trails that have been developed and maintained for summer & fall mountain bike use. Attitash has over 20 miles of terrain available including 27 technically challenging lift-serviced downhill trails as well as 12 cross-country trails suitable for all abilities. The Dirt Trax bike shop has added new, high-end downhill bikes to its available rental fleet and the Eastern States Cup regional Enduro and Downhill competitions and a new Attitash "Double Down" Downhill Race Series are among featured events scheduled this summer.
Outdoor Waterslides, Buddy Bear's Playpool, scenic Horseback Riding along the Saco River and hand-led Pony Rides will open Saturday, June 20 when Attitash begins to operate all attractions daily.
Attitash will be hosting an outdoor, free Mountainside Music Series every Saturday afternoon in July & August and will also have its BlueberryFEST on Saturday, August 1 and 18th Annual Oktoberfest over the Columbus Day Weekend October 10-11. Summer season passes are now on sale and begin as low as $100 for children under 48" or $129 for the mountain biking only pass.
