The acclaimed Eric Mintel Quartet will be on hand for a late afternoon musical jaunt through some of television’s memorable theme songs. The 4:00 p.m. September 16 show at Jean’s Playhouse in Lincoln will get you in the mood to start celebrating Monday’s Emmy Awards – or just take you back to the classic tunes that ushered in weekly episodes of your favorites.
Mintel has been long celebrated as a Brubeck stylist, ‘tho with compositions and arrangements all his own. For 25 years or more, they have performed everywhere from the White House to the Kennedy Center, for audiences from 50 to 5,000 in venues large and small. In addition to featured pianist and composer Eric Mintel, Nelson Hill is on sax, Dave Mohn on drums and Jack Hegyi on bass.
North Country audiences should look forward to tunes the likes of I Dream of Jeannie, Mannix, Hawaii 5-0, Mission Impossible and more, as well as some of their latest original works. Tickets available online at www.jeansplayhouse.com and by phone at 603-745-2141; also at the door an hour before curtain.
As The North Country Center for the Arts, Jean’s Playhouse offers professional theatre through October 6, with ‘Always…Patsy Cline’ followed by ‘Driving Miss Daisy’; and year round concerts, comedians and other special events.
