Pinkham Notch, NH — The annual Nordic Demo Day at Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center on January 19th is an event you won’t want to miss—especially this year. Nordic skiers and snowshoers have had this on their calendar since the start of the season, since this is the best place to demo the latest ski and snowshoe equipment from industry-leading companies such as Fischer, Tubbs, Rossignol, Swix, Salomon and Atomic. Your single-day trail pass or season pass will give you access to try an amazing array of equipment, and talk to the experts behind the brands. Plus, once you find the right gear for you, head up to Great Glen Outfitters where everything is 20% off for this one-day event.
This year, the event will be a truly amazing experience for everyone involved. We’ll have a special guest in attendance—namely Olympic gold medalist Kikkan Randall. Kikkan is a five-time Olympian, and made history in the 2018 Olympics by winning the gold medal in the women’s Nordic Team Sprint with her teammate Jessie Diggins. This amazing accomplishment holds the distinction of being the FIRST Olympic gold medal for an American cross-country skier. While this has put her squarely in the spotlight as an ambassador for the sport, she’s not new to being a winner in Nordic ski racing. Among her long list of accomplishments includes 13 World Cup victories, 29 World Cup podiums, six Olympic top-tens, 17 U.S. national championships, and three World Championship medals. Learn more about her at www.kikkan.com
With all those accolades, you’d think Kikkan would be an unapproachable superstar in the sport, but in fact this down-to-Earth mom from Alaska is dedicated to mentoring and motivating youth athletes, as well as those who are battling cancer like she recently has. Come see for yourself, and meet Kikkan in the Fischer demo tent at Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center on January 19th. Get some advice on gear, some motivation to be your best, and maybe a selfie or two. Kikkan will be meeting with the Bill Koch League youth ski club after lunch, and then giving a presentation in the base lodge from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Afterwards, get an autographed poster of the Olympian to commemorate the day.
We hope to see you at Great Glen Trails this weekend.
