Professional Riders from around the world travel to Lincoln, NH to compete in the Akua Classic Flowdown Sunday, July 8th at 9 a.m. Dan Tarapchak, currently ranked world champion in Mens Professional
Bodybooard, Kade Cox, two time Canadian national Flowboard champion, and Joel Stephens, current two time USA Junior National Champion in both Bodyboard and Flowboard will all be competing at Whale’s Tale Waterpark Sunday.
Freestyle surfing best describes Flowboarding, which is a sport that is often compared to as a mix of snowboarding, surfing, and skateboarding. The Akua Classic helps to grow the sport by offering
strapped and tandem categories that have not been sanctioned in other competitions. Competitors will be able to showcase these riding techniques making the Akua Classic a unique competition. With multiple divisions including amateur and professional, there’s a wide variety of prizes ranging from T-shirts to $1500 cash! The winner of each class will be entered into The Flowdown. This final portion of the competition is where the best riders of the amateur and professional divisions compete, which will determine the best rider of the day. The champion of the Final Flowdown wins a 5-night stay and adventure to the Rincón Surf School & Resort in Rincón, Puerto Rico.
