Whale’s Tale Waterpark was voted Tripadvisors Top 25 Waterparks in
America for the third year in a row! Focusing on guest safety, value, and
your overall park experience are part of our core values which we
attribute to this recognition. Akua Beach opens May 1, and the rest of
the park on June 6. We’re looking forward to people enjoying the park
Last season with the addition of Akua Beach, a Pacific Surf Designs Pro
Flow Double sheet wave for Flowboarding (surfing) and bodyboarding,
allowed us to expand our season in the Spring and Fall. Akua’s great success, as well as the rapid growth of Flowboarding, led us to creating the Akua Classic Flowdown®. This one-of-a-kind freestyle Flowboarding
competition will take place at Akua Beach on July 7 and 8, 2018.
Flowboarding is a blend of surfing, wake boarding and snowboarding which takes place on a machine that produces a sheet wave. Flowboarders from around the globe will be traveling to Whale’s Tale
Waterpark this July to compete in this one-of-akind, world-class event.
“Although there are Flowboarding competitions around the world, the Akua Classic Flowdown® is truly the first of its kind. Letting riders of all ages and levels compete in the same session, it is pushing the sport forward. This isn’t about having another competition or event, it’s
about growing awareness in this great rapidly expanding sport.”
