Glen, NH (September 10, 2026) Happy Hauntings, New Hampshire’s Best New Way to Halloween, makes its grand return to Story Land on Saturday, September 19 for a third year of silly, spooky, fall fun. The seasonal event rounds out another year full of family friendly events at the beloved White Mountains amusement park. Families are invited to enjoy all the classic fun of a day at Story Land, including rides, shows, and characters, plus festive fall fun like trick-or-treating, pumpkin painting, and even meet and greets with larger-than-life Spookley the Square Pumpkin™.

Happy Hauntings will run select days from Saturday, Sept. 19 through Sunday, Oct. 25. Details include: 

  • ALL-NEW Topsy Turvy Halloween Party: Cinderella is hosting the most perfect Halloween party until the Mad Hatter crashes the fun and brings the chaos. This add-on experience will delight the whole family.
  • ALL NEW Fall Themed Food and Beverage: Seasonal bites like salted caramel apple fried dough, mini donuts, and cozy pumpkin bisque will satisfy even the pickiest of tastebuds. Plus, guests can roast their own marshmallows for s’mores at the park’s outdoor firepit.
  • Spookley’s Hay Maze: A timeless fall tradition joins the Halloween lineup at Story Land as a hay maze pops up, challenging guests to make their way through the interactive maze and onto their next fall-themed adventure. 
  • Spookley’s Scavenger Hunt: Spookley the Square Pumpkin’s friends are hiding in 10 spots throughout Story Land, and visitors that find all 10 will be entered to win a special grand prize at the conclusion of Happy Hauntings. 
  • Story Time and Meet and Greets with Spookley the Square Pumpkin: Everyone’s favorite square pumpkin will be on-site every day during Happy Hauntings for a story time and meet and greets with the entire family. 
  • Fairytale Trick-or-Treat Trail: Everyone is invited to collect candy as they make their way through the park’s storybook area with delicious treats and beloved characters like The Old Woman in the Shoe, Little Red Riding Hood and more.
  • Special Halloween Themed Shows: Two spectacular shows, Unhappily Ever After and Cinderella’s Royal Celebration: Villains Takeover take center stage select times throughout the day. 
  • Paint Your Own Pumpkin Patch: Visitors can pick their very own pumpkins to paint and bring home.
  • Rotating Halloween Activities: Each weekend will bring select activities to the park including a Halloween Bubble Bash, scream contests, scary-oke and a kid’s costume parade.

Happy Hauntings will run every Saturday and Sunday from September 19 through October 25 plus Monday, October 12. Families are invited to enjoy the park from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. with fall décor throughout and select rides and attractions including Turtle Twirl, Antique Cars, the Pumpkin Coach, Great Balloon Chase, Polar Coaster and more.
