BERLIN, N.H. — One of the North Country’s most anticipated fall traditions returns to Berlin on Saturday, October 17, 2026, when RiverFire takes over Service Credit Union Heritage Park and the surrounding area for a full day of family activities, entertainment, food, outdoor recreation and the spectacular evening tradition of fires on the Androscoggin River.

Hosted by the Androscoggin Valley Chamber of Commerce and presented by Title Sponsor Service Credit Union, RiverFire has become a fall tradition for the Androscoggin Valley and a destination for visitors from throughout New England.

The day kicks off with the Zombie ATV Poker Run & Scavenger Hunt, bringing riders out on the trails for one of RiverFire’s most popular traditions. The RiverFire 5K on the beautiful RiverWalk, hosted by Coos County Family Health Services, is also part of the day’s festivities.

Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy food vendors, hayrides, train rides, bucket truck rides, axe throwing with Jericho AXEventures, live entertainment, and plenty of activities for children and families.

The RiverFire Kidz Zone will feature Wildlife Encounters, face painting, games and a Bouncy House Village, while the Bosco Boys bring their entertaining mix of balancing, juggling and unicycling to the Amphitheatre.

Costumes are encouraged for the Halloween Costume Parade, as ghosts, goblins, superheroes, witches and more make their way to RiverFire.

Then, as daylight fades, RiverFire transforms.

At dusk, fires are lit on the historic boom piers in the Androscoggin River, creating the signature sight that gave RiverFire its name. At the same time, hundreds of locally carved pumpkins illuminate the bridge as part of the beloved RiverFire Pumpkin Bridge.

The celebration continues into the evening with TRIFECTA Band performing live from 6 to 9 p.m.

“RiverFire is one of those special events that truly showcases our community,” said Paula Kinney, Executive Director of the Androscoggin Valley Chamber of Commerce. “From families choosing and carving pumpkins for the bridge to ATV riders, volunteers and local businesses, there is an incredible amount of community spirit behind this event. We also love welcoming visitors from throughout New England who come to experience RiverFire and our area during one of the most beautiful times of the year. And when the fires are lit and the pumpkins begin to glow at dusk, it’s a pretty amazing sight.”

RiverFire began in 2004 and has grown into a signature fall celebration in the Androscoggin Valley. The event combines the natural beauty of northern New Hampshire in autumn with outdoor recreation, family activities and traditions created right here in the community.

RiverFire is made possible through the generous support of its sponsors and community partners.
