Combine Christmas vibes with some seasonal nosh, and you'll get a good idea of the amazing 4-course plated Thanksgiving dinner held at the Christmas Farm Inn & Spa on Thursday, 11/24! Reservations are required for this special event, so hop to it if the likes of lobster sherry bisque, slow cooked prime rib with beef au jus, apple sage stuffing, bourbon caramel ice cream, and more sound like your Thanksgiving nirvana.

THE COMMON MAN (Ashland, NH & Lincoln, NH)

Maybe cooking just isn’t your forte? If that’s the case, call the Common Man to secure your Thanksgiving to Go! The Common Man family of restaurants is closed Thanksgiving Day, but that doesn’t mean you’ll miss out on their famous flavors. From whole berry cranberry sauce to garlicky green beans, country mashed potatoes, and a slice of pumpkin pie with cinnamon whipped cream (plus the option to add in even more festive foods like a glazed ham or sweet potato casserole), this Thankgsiving dinner to go is one you’ll remember for years.

Meal for Four: $99.95 + tax. Meal for One: $25.95 + tax.

Gobble up that good stuff! Hart’s Turkey Farm in Meredith, NH is famed for its turkey spreads, so put in your preorder for a Whole Roasted Turkey Family Meal or an Individual Roasted Turkey Dinner to pick up on Thanksgiving Day. Both Thanksgiving dinner to go options come with an amazing number of sides (including gravy, stuffing, whipped potatoes, butternut squash, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, and more), and plenty of pie options for your Thanksgiving dessert. 

Hart’s restaurant will be closed for in-house dining on Thanksgiving Day, but Individual Turkey dinners can be ordered the day of via call-in or walk-in (or preordered, just like the Family Meals).

Diners can choose to pick up their hot or heat & serve Thanksgiving feast to go during the three days prior to Thanksgiving, or on Thursday, 11/24 at select times.

Lincoln fans, what are you Thanksgiving plans? Indian Head Resort is hosting a Deluxe Buffet Brunch on the big day from 11:30am to 2:30pm, leaving plenty of time afterwards for climbing their tower and looking at the mighty slopes of nearby Mount Pemigewasset.

Forty at Thorn Hill (located inside the Inn at Thorn Hill & Spa in Jackson, NH) is having a scrumptious holiday spread on Thanksgiving Day, and you’re invited! There will be classics like turkey and warm apple crisp, but gourmet twists as well like baked stuffed haddock with crab and lobster stuffing, buttered haricots with toasted cashews, and pumpkin bisque with lobster gnocchi. Just thinking of this Thanksgiving Day Buffet has us ready to put on our stretchy pants!

Guests staying at the Mountain Club on Loon will be absolutely delighted with their dining choices over Thanksgiving weekend. It all kicks off with a Thanksgiving Eve Dinner with cozy pub classic like burgers, chowders, mac & cheese, and chicken wings, followed by a Thanksgiving Day breakfast with all kinds of options. The main event, though, is the Mountain Club's Grand Thanksgiving Buffet (11/24, 12 - 6pm)! Head to the their website for a full menu, but here's a sneak peek: appetizers ranging from a smoked salmon display to soft pretzel sticks with mustard, soups like clam chowder and butternut squash & apple, everything from a broccoli cheddar bacon salad to cranberry orange relish, and a mountain of entrees to select from. We hear the prime rib and mushroom stew calling our name!

Save room for all the dessert options too, and don't forget to visit the Thanksgiving Build Your Own Bloody Mary & Mimosa Bar to cap off the holiday noshing. If you have room after all that, the Mountain Club is also offering a Thanksgiving dinner later in the day.

Elevate your Thanksgiving feast into the realm of unforgettable with a refined 3-course dinner at Stonehurst Manor’s Wild Rose Restaurant at the Stonehurst Manor. Guests can select a gourmet Thanksgiving side dish, entrée, and dessert from the Wild Rose’s many offerings. We have our eyes on festive flavors of fall like the Apple Jack Pumpkin Bisque, Southern Fried Turkey, and Pumpkin Bread Pudding.

This North Woodstock, NH mainstay will have it all, including appetizer, salad, and starch & veggie tables, as well as a carving station and enough desserts to boggle the mind of any hungry guest.

CASTLE IN THE CLOUDS (Moultonborough, NH)

A historic castle set high in the mountains of the Lakes Region. Local craftsmen selling handmade wares at an Artisan Fair. Lunch in a grand carriage house. Does it get any dreamier?! Head to Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough, NH on two weekends in November for some of the most picturesque holiday shopping and dining you could imagine.

The Castle Artisan Fair is scheduled for the weekends of 11/19 – 11/20 and 11/25 – 11/27 (from 10am to 5pm each day) and is held in the same building as the Carriage House Restaurant.

The Carriage House Restaurant will be open 11/19 –  11/20 and 11/25 – 11/27 (11:30am to 3pm each daily). No reservations available at this time; the Carriage House Restaurant will operate on a first come, first serve basis.

Here’s another artisan fair for you to hit if you’re headed a little bit north after shopping at Castle in the Clouds: the Holiday Craft Fair at Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center! This popular Gorham, NH affair (presented by the Granite Outdoor Alliance) will include local artists and crafters, raffles, and baked goods, as well as access to Great Glen Outfitters shop filled with ski sales and winter gear.

Adventure is waiting at the AMC Joe Dodge Lodge! Every morning over the holiday weekend, visitors are invited to join an AMC Educator on a series of "Notch Walks" to discover the waterfalls, ponds, and viewpoints found in Pinkham Notch. Those looking to sharpen their hiking acumen can always attend "Backcountry Basics" as well, hosted Friday and Saturday. "Fireside Stories" are a fun way to fill in your afternoons after a bit of adventuring, but don't forget the most exciting events of all: evenings programs devoted to music and photography!

Combine the Christmastime magic of Santa Clause with historic train rides and you’ll get an idea of Journey to the North Pole. The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation has partnered with Lincoln, NH’s Hobo Railroad and North Conway, NH’s Conway Scenic Railroad to create a Christmas-themed train ride that children will never forget. There will be special treats, a stop at the North Pole post office to drop off Santa’s letters, a reading of “The Night Before Christmas”, elf singalongs, and even a meeting with Santa himself! Be sure to book your tickets online for this ever-popular event.

CASTLE IN THE CLOUDS (Moultonborough, NH)

On the hunt for some merry and bright plans over the holiday weekend? Head to Castle in the Clouds for “Christmas at the Castle”, a spectacular event showcasing festive decorations inside the grand rooms of Lucknow Mansion. Local musician George Parker will be on the guitar, providing cheerful tunes as you peruse the décor.

After that, head to the Artisan Market hosted inside the nearby Carriage House or make plans for lunch at the Carriage House Restaurant. See you there, Christmas fans!

As soon as Thanksgiving gives way to Black Friday, our minds immediately jump to Christmas. If you feel the same, why not kick off the most wonderful time of the year with a ride on Santa’s Holiday Express? The Conway Scenic Railroad plays host to Santa and Mrs. Claus for this family-friendly event that runs along their picturesque Conway route, and milk and cookies are de rigueur for all!

Santa’s Holiday Express opens for the Christmas season on Friday, 11/25 with trains scheduled throughout Thanksgiving weekend from 11:30am to 3pm. We’d highly recommend booking your tickets online ahead of time for this very popular event.

For those looking to forgo the shopping on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, we’d recommend visiting The Flying Monkey Movie House & Performance Center in Plymouth, NH. Friday, 11/25, Warren Miller’s latest spectacular ode to skiing, Daymaker, takes to the silver screen for  showings at 3pm and 7pm.

Saturday, 11/26, it’s all about comedian Juston McKinney, a NH native with an impressive lineup of specials and TV appearances under his belt. Get ready for plenty of belly laughs to help you work off those second and third helpings from Thanksgiving dinner!

Instead of a sleigh ride with Santa, what about a train ride? Lincoln, NH’s Hobo Railroad will be hosting Santa for a series of merry Santa Express excursions starting Friday, 11/25! Kiddos will have the chance to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and receive blank letters to complete, as well as a small gift from the rosy-cheeked man of the hour during their train tour.

Guests can choose from First Class seating (with tables) or Coach Class seating (with bench-style seating); both options offer an identical meet and greet experience, meaning there’s plenty of joy to go ‘round.

All Santa Express Trains are approximately one hour and twenty minutes roundtrip. Thanksgiving weekend days of operation include 11/25, 11/26, and 11/27, with all departures at 1pm.

First Class tickets: $33 (ages 3 and up); Coach Class tickets: $25 (ages 3 and up). Kids 2 and under ride free. Additional Santa Express dates are available online. 



Start a new family tradition with Christmastime at Santa’s Village! On select weekends throughout November and December, Santa’s ramps up the year-round yuletide spirit with Christmas carols sounding throughout the park and glimmering holiday lights adding extra festive vibes come dusk.

Dress warmly if you plan on attending; Santa’s Village is a mostly outdoor experience and snow is common around Thanksgiving each year. Also? Book your tickets online early! This special event sells out annually.

Twin Barns Brewing Co. North Taproom in North Woodstock, NH is your Thanksgiving weekend stop for live music and local pours. Friday, 11/25 kicks it off with Paul Driscoll from 5 to 8pm. Follow it up with Ian Archibold on Saturday, 11/26 (5 - 8pm) and you'll see why this new outpost is making the "must visit" list for any brewery hopping tour of the White Mountains.

In addition to amazing holiday deals held throughout Thanksgiving weekend, Settlers Green is also hosting a magical Festival of Trees. Head to Unit A14 (next door to the Lindt Chocolate Shop); there, you will find a veritable forest of decorated trees waiting to be viewed. Come just to take in the sights or see if you can win your favorite tree by dropping a raffle ticket in each tree’s respective bucket.

Settlers Green’ Festival of Trees dates include Friday, 11/25 through Sunday, 11/27 (from 10am to 7pm). Admission is $10 for adults and free for children under 12. Adults looking to up their chances of winning can purchase 25 additional tickets for an extra $10.

WATERVILLE VALLEY (Waterville Valley, NH)

Saturday, 11/26 at 1pm, take the plunge into supporting Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports! This amazing organization is hosting its 10th Annual Cold Turkey Plunge and is looking for plungers to participate. $50 gets you a dunk in Corcoran Pond plus bragging rights, an official Plunge shirt, cold turkey sandwiches, and other fun goodies.

Prior to dunking, participants will also get to take part in a Pre-Plunge Parade. Might we recommend showing off your finest feathers and wearing a costume? Prizes will be awarded for Best Costume plus Most Funds Raised (for individuals and for groups) for Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports.

Stick around after the plunge for Santa’s arrival at Waterville Valley’s Town Square, complete with gifts and candies for children. Visits with Santa will be held for the next few hours, followed by a tree lighting and fantastic free fireworks in Town Square.

We love a good live band. Did you know the Woodstock Inn Brewery hosts one every single Friday and Saturday night? On Sundays, they also have and open mic night at the main bar, so round up your beer aficionados for some rousing good fun! But if your weekend plans are filled up, you can always opt for music bingo on Mondays.
