Whether you are a biking pro or haven’t been on a bike since you were 12 years old, the White Mountains is the perfect spot to hop on and take a scenic ride. You can BYOB (bring your own bike), or rent one! We’ve found some pretty cool spots that you might want to cycle through your vacation itinerary.
Loon Mountain is home to some pretty awesome cross-country ski trails (along some pretty awesome down-hill trails!) Not only can you enjoy those x-country trails in the winter, but you can also bike them in the summer. Loon offers mountain bike rentals that you can ride on the mountain, on the Franconia Notch Bike Path, or the Lincoln-Woods Trail. You can also rent one of their popular e-bikes (electric bikes for those not in the know), and take a leisurely ride into and around town.
Explore nearly 20 miles of down-hill and cross-country mountain biking trails for varying abilities. Get exclusive chair lift access to 35 down-hill trails for a more extreme ride or for a more family-friendly adventure, enjoy 8, scenic, cross-country trails along the Saco River. Rentals and season passes are available.
As their name would suggest, there are some pretty great trails to ride on here! They carry mountain bikes for kids and adults, and fat bikes for the more rugged bicyclist. Take your bikes out on the smooth, well-marked carriage road and enjoy the beauty of the forest and mountain vistas. The more adventurous rider will love the wooded single track. Care for a little friendly competition? Tuesday nights in July and August, Great Glen Trails hosts a Mountain Bike Race Series for all ages and abilities.
Bretton Woods offers an array of Alpine and Valley bike trails designed for varying abilities. Their Cross-country ski trails are designed for cyclists who want a leisurely ride, or for families that want a casual day of biking. For those looking for more extreme terrain, ride the chair lift up and mountain bike down one of the Alpine trails. They also carry mountain scooters for people who want ty try something a little bit different. Daily and seasonal passes are available.
Your all in one place for biking fun! Rent a bike from their retail shop in Lincoln, or from their satellite location at the Cannon Aerial Tramway in Franconia Notch State Park. They also offer shuttle service to the top of the 9-mile Franconia Bike Path so all you have to worry about it riding back down to your car!
Rent, buy, or get your bike serviced at Rodger’s! While you’re there, take their shuttle to the Franconia Notch Bike Path. If you’re in the area on Tuesday evenings, join in on one of their weekly group rides. Great for all abilities, ages 18 and up.
The Notch Hostel , White Mountains Hostel , and Rattle River Hostel are teaming up for this 3-day, 3-hostel tour. Bicyclists will complete a 130 mile trail that will have cyclists staying at all three hostels during the three day tour. Beautiful scenery, a sense of adventure, and an experience of a lifetime.
