Spring is just around the corner and our ski resorts are getting in the spirit with pond skims, throwback days, ski races, and more seasonal events peppered across their spring ski calendars.
Don’t put away those skis and snowboards just yet! Spring is one of the best times to ski (and party!) in the White Mountains, and it’s coming soon.
BRETTON WOODS SKI AREA (Bretton Woods, NH)
- Date: Saturday, 3/29
Celebrate the end of the season and welcome spring at Bretton Woods Annual Spring Beach Party! From 9 AM to 4 PM, enjoy beach-themed activities, including a scavenger hunt for hidden miniature pineapples, delicious mocktails at the Tiki Bar, and a Luau Lunch featuring island-inspired specials. At 1 PM, don your goofiest costume and try to conquer the Annual Spring Beach Party Slush Pool challenge! Wrap up the day with a lively Après Party from 2 PM to 5 PM, featuring DJ Corey and Margaritaville vibes, plus drink specials from Kona Brewing & Buena Guava.

CANNON MOUNTAIN (Franconia, NH)

Do you love kids, a good cause, and Cannon Mountain? BodeFest is the can’t-miss event of the spring season! This signature Cannon affair is made possible thanks to The Turtle Ridge Foundation and famed Olympian Bode Miller, who will be onsite throughout the day’s festive proceedings.
Kids 18 years and under are invited to enter the Kids’ Ski w/Bode Run and the Kids’ Fun Race, while all can enjoy an autograph session with Bode Miller and an epic BBQ lunch on-mountain, as well as swag bags, commemorative event items, and more.
100% of event registration fees benefit the Foundation’s efforts to support innovative and progressive adaptive and youth athletic opportunities in local communities.

80’s Day & The Old School Duel

Kick it like it’s 1980-something at Cannon Mountain! You’re invited to don your best throwback threads and enter the Best Dressed Contest, join the Deck Dance Party with DJ Stevie B, and even register for the iconic Old School Duel! If you’d rather just watch as an 80’s-tastic spectator, that’s cool too – keep an eye out for daffys, helis, spread eagles, and more outrageous old-school ski jump moves. Then party it up at Cannon’s Apres Party complete with an 80’s covered band.

Blizzard Splash Pond
- Date: Saturday, 4/5
- Time: 8am to 11:00am (Registration), 12:30pm to 2pm (Event)
- Cost: Cannon Mountain lift ticket or season pass
Splash into spring at Cannon Mountain, and see if you can skim across the Blizzard Splash Pond! Ages 12 and up are welcome to participate but there are only 50 spots for the day, so be sure to hit up Guest Services on the earlier side of the 8am – 11:30am registration window. Skiers who make it all the way across have the chance to win big with prizes from Blizzard Skis and Chutters Candy Shop, but all spectators can bask in the fun of this fun ski event in the White Mountains.
CRANMORE MOUNTAIN RESORT (North Conway, NH)
- Date: Saturday, 3/18
- Time: 8:30am – 9:30am (Registration), 10:30am – 12pm (Competition)
- Cost: Cranmore Mountain Resort lift ticket or season pass
Do you have that competitive spirit and a thirst for cool swag? Sign yourself up for Cranmore’s third Park Series of the year! All ages and all abilities are invited to participate and there are so many ski and snowboard prizes to be won. To register the day of the event, head to the BBQ Barn right next to Zip’s Deck.

How far can you make it across the slush pond? This fun and free event is for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and is a thrill for both participants and observers.
A valid lift ticket or season pass is required to participate and children under 18 must have a parent or guardian signature. Rental equipment is not allowed.

This tasty event is a celebration and a thank you to all of Cranmore’s 2024-2025 season passholders. Stop by for a classic backyard BBQ to celebrate the season! Stop by the Fairbank Lodge patio from 12 pm to 2 pm for burgers, hot dogs, and more.

Hey hey, 80’s Day! Spread the love for your local White Mountains ski events, and add this rockin’ event to your calendar. Expect awesome springtime ski conditions, live music from 80’s tribute band Rubix Cube, totally rad outfits all around, and more during this beloved tradition at Loon Mountain Resort.

Get ready to shake off the winter blues and dive into the fun! Head to the Governor Adams Lodge area for an exciting pond skimming event. Enjoy refreshing drinks at The Lookout patio bar, featuring a cold selection of cans. Test your skills as you skim across the long, chilly pool created by Loon's mountain operations team. This event is open to ages 13 and up—space is limited!
For the younger thrill-seekers, the littlest and bravest skiers and riders can take on the challenge of crossing the cold waters. This event is open to ages 6-12, with limited space available.

GUNSTOCK MOUNTAIN RESORT (Gilford, NH)

B.Y.O.D.C. means Bring Your Own Dry Clothes!
End the season with a splash and participate in Gunstock’s annual B.Y.O.D.C. Pond Skim! This fun and hilarious competition is open to all ages brave enough to attempt to cross the manmade pond at the base of Gunstock’s slopes. Wear your favorite costume and show off your swagger, rizz, and skiing skills, or you could end up in the drink - that's where the dry clothes come in! Prizes will be awarded for Best Cross, Best Splash, and Best Costume, so dress to impress! All proceeds benefit the Greater Lakes Region Children's Auction!
